Ukrainian and Iranian wars at their final bitter turning point
It appears obvious that both the Ukrainian and Iranian wars are reaching their final turning point.
I have analyzed and commented on both conflicts many times on my website during last 6 months. This short article only refers to the latest events and developments in both cases.
War in the Middle East and beyond
On the Iran front, the Trump administration is setting the stage to renew its attack on Iran. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said on Friday that the “Iranians reached out” and requested an “in-person meeting,” so President Trump “dispatched Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to go hear what they have to say.” This is a complete fabrication.
Iran wasted no time in destroying that claim. Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Ismael Baqaei, confirmed in a post on X late on the 24th that NO meeting — I repeat, NO meeting — is planned with US officials. Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is in Islamabad to meet with high-level Pakistani officials in order to give them a written document with Iran’s views on recent developments, which will be delivered to Witkoff and Kushner.
It seems that Trump is trying to create a narrative to justify renewing the US and Israeli attack on Iran. He is sending his emissaries to Islamabad ostensibly to meet with Iranian negotiators only to discover that Iran allegedly bailed out. Trump will claim this is an act of bad faith and is going to punish Iran accordingly.
China urges its citizens to leave Iran as soon as possible – Chinese Embassy in Tehran. India urges its citizens to leave Iran.
It also appears that Trump gave Netanyahu permission to trash the ceasefire with Hezbollah. The Israeli Air Force resumed strikes on southern Lebanon, a moratorium on which was part of the ceasefire between the US and Iran.
The US coalition has redeployed and regrouped their forces, three naval carrier groups, air forces and ground troops. Iran has also redeployed and replenished its weaponry. Both sides are ready for the final inferno.

War in Ukraine and … Europe
Russian armed forces, which have been slowly advancing along the whole frontline in last three months, are concentrating five air borne attack divisions in the southern part of Ukraine and preparing for massive air strikes. Here, as well, everything is ready for the huge and decisive spring offensive. Moreover, tension between Russia and the European NATO forces seems to be escalating quickly.
The Lithuanian military forces, together with the NATO, have begun fortification work and strengthening positions in the Suwalki region for preparing a possible blockade of Russian Kaliningrad.
The Suwałki Gap, also known as the Suwałki corridor is a sparsely populated area around the border between Lithuania and Poland, and centres on the shortest path between Belarus and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad Oblast on the Polish side of the border. Named after the Polish town of Suwałki, this choke point has become of great strategic and military importance since Poland and the Baltic states joined the NATO.

Russia, based on a recent briefing by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, is taking Europe at its word and is preparing for the possibility of a full-scale war. In an annual “reality check” with Russian NGO leaders in Moscow (April 24, 2026), Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov delivered his most serious assessment yet. The era of “proxy hybridity” is over—the masks are off.
Responding to European statements that Europe must be prepared to fight Russia in the next 3–5 year window, Lavrov stated bluntly that the EU is mobilizing for a direct military confrontation with Russia. In this strategy, Ukraine is being used as a “battering ram” to bleed Russia dry and buy Europe the time it needs to fully rearm its industrial base over the next few years.
The Minister emphasized that without NATO satellite intelligence and Western officers on the ground, Kiev would be paralyzed. This is no longer a “proxy” conflict; it is an open war against Russia. Lavrov said: “An open war has been declared against us. The Kiev regime is merely the ‘spearhead’ being used to buy them time. They couldn’t be any more obvious.”
Here is the Bottom Line: The Russian diplomatic corps has shifted from a “negotiation” posture to a “mobilization” one. Moscow is signaling that it is preparing for a long-term, high-stakes endurance match with a militarized Europe. This is not an extension of the Special Military Operation… This is preparation for war.
A preview of this escalating situation was already seen a couple of days ago when British fighter jets flew from the NATO Romanian airbase into Ukrainian airspace and shot down Russian drones.

Britain Deploys Eurofighters to Defend Ukrainian Airspace From Forward Bases in Romania

The United Kingdom Ministry of Defence has for the first time permitted Eurofighter combat jets based in Romania to shoot down Russian aircraft inside Ukrainian airspace, representing a major landmark in the expansion of Britain’s direct involvement in the ongoing Russian Ukrainian War.
The Romanian Defence Ministry reported that one Eurofighter made radar contact with an unmanned aircraft at a distance of 1,5 km from the Ukrainian city of Reni in the Odessa region and received permission to destroy it, setting a precedent for NATO members to potentially play a much more active role in the ongoing air campaign against Russia. “The pilots had authorization to engage the drones,” the Ministry stated, adding that multiple explosions were subsequently reported in Reni.

The State Department and CIA, non-elected officials, along with their counterparts in the EU, Ukrainian politicians and George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, along with the neo-Nazi ultranationalists, created the fake Maidan protests. The neo-Nazis controlled the five key ministries of the Ukrainian government to include the Ministry of Defense, John O. Brennan, was the head of CIA then.
He flew in the day after they overthrew the Yanukovych government, met with the head of the Ukrainian intelligence and the head of MI6 and the very next day, they began the ethnic war on eastern Ukraine, which was really one of the most horrific humanitarian violations in modern history. Ethnic cleansing began between 2014 and 2021. Fourteen thousand, (14 000) ethnic Russian civilians were killed in eastern Ukraine and most of them by artillery, mortar, and, you know, drone attacks.

Both conflicts, Ukrainian war and Iranian war, have caused far opposite consequences than what was intended. Here below two examples of really negative consequences, one European and one American.
