NATO – Nordic Front and the war in Ukraine
I have analyzed these topics, NATO involvement and Nordic connection, many times before, the latest articles here below: August 26, 2024 Visible signs of the approaching end in Ukraine , August 8, 2024, From proxy war to direct war in Ukraine July 15, 2024 Western mania for pan-European war
Kiev regime in turmoil
It appears that, after recent devastating Russian strikes, Kiev regime is in panic mode. On September 4, the following members of the Ukrainian Government just RESIGNED EN MASSE: Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Justice Denis Maliuska, Minister for Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strelets, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of Uncontrolled Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy head of Zelensky’s office Rostislav Shurma.
Ukraine’s Defense Ministry has run out of money for combat pay for the AFU militants. Ukraine has run out of money to pay military salaries, the head of the Verkhovna Rada’s budget committee, Roksolana Pidlasa, has said. According to the MP, the difficulties arose due to delays in funding from the United States at the beginning of the year. As a result, Kiev had to buy weapons with its own money. According to the Financial Times, Ukraine has allocated almost half of its annual budget of $87 billion to defense spending but its domestic revenues amount to only $46 billion. US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said (Sept. 6) that Biden will announce a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $250 million today, which is however not at all sufficient.
With the help of a CNN interview (Sept.5), the Ukrainian Commander in Chief General Syrskyi is hoping to gain more support from western sources. On the other hand, he has admitted the failures in the Kursk operation and revealed the lack of strategy behind Kursk Incursion.
September 6, President Vladimir Zelensky is going make Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrskyi step down, blaming him for all the failures on the battlefield, which aggravated after the attack on Russia’s Kursk Region, Yury Lutsenko, Ukraine’s former Interior Minister and former prosecutor general, said.
Lutsenko said that the best Ukrainian units and equipment had been deployed to the Kursk Region. “The question is what about Donbass. It is Syrskyi that will be responsible in any case. He will be sacked for this in any case,” Lutsenko said. “Syrskyi will not be the only scapegoat but the West is going to be the scapegoat,” he said. “All the rhetoric delivered by the president’s office boils down to the claim that the West is to blame for all our failures.”
NATO’s growing and deepening role in the Ukrainian war
NATO’s growing role can be seen in the bombings and other air strikes in the present phase of the war. On the other hand, despite of increased AFU drone strikes deep inside Russia, the AFU positions on the frontlines are collapsing.

Official statements by Jens Stoltenberg tell a clear message: NATO’s pivotal role in the Ukraine war.
September 2, Transnistria’s Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev has expressed concern over Moldova being armed with Western weapons amid the unresolved conflict. According to Vitaly Ignatiev, the cooperation between Moldova and NATO has reached a “high level”. “There are comprehensive global plans for cooperation with NATO. As of today, Moldova is essentially part of NATO’s security system and over the past year alone, 18 military exercises were held in Moldova in coordination with the alliance, while the US and Germany supply weapons and armored vehicles to Moldova”, minister said.

On September 6, the United States hosted the 24th meeting of the so-called Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany. It was chaired by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and was the first UDCG meeting in nearly three months. Austin stated that “the meeting would address Ukraine’s most urgent needs”, namely the Kiev regime’s dwindling air defense capabilities and long-range strike platforms. Austin showed some restraint when it comes to long-range strike weapons to be used against targets deeper within Russia.
On September 11, The US Secretary of State Blinken and the head of the British Foreign Office Lammy arrived in Kiev to discuss lifting the ban on deep strikes on Russian territory. They are going to meet with Zelensky today. Will they escalate again?
Hunting NATO specialists and foreign mercenaries
It appears that Russia has started a systematic hunting of NATO targets. Before it was targeting some single objects like “Leopard hunting, Abrams-tank hunting, HIMARS-hunting etc.” with substantial financial rewards but nowadays this targeting is a wide-range “NATO-hunting” inside Ukrainian and Russian territories.
The hunting continues. Several Russian sources report that NATO specialists on the periphery have become a priority target and the results are beginning to suggest that high-precision strikes have become a nightmare for foreign mercenaries and their equipment. There have been huge losses of equipment manpower, not only on the front line, but across the entire rear areas.
Here are some of the latest important attacks:
On 28 August, an Iskander rocket hit a cargo ship unloading arms and ammunition in the Odessa Oblast. Up to 20 mercenaries, ammunition and 12 drones were destroyed as well another 38 water drones.
On the evening of September 2, a Russian Iskander attacked a foreign mercenary air defense zone in a hotel in Zaporozhye. Up to 50 AFU officers were killed, about 20 soldiers were wounded. Among those eliminated were 19 UK mercenaries.
On the night of September 2, in the Sumy region of Ukraine, Russia launched precision-guided missile strikes against the positions of the AFU multiple rocket launchers. As a result of the missile strike, the following were destroyed: three HIMARS MLRS launchers and other vehicles and more than 30 AFU and foreign servicemen.
On 3 September, a group Iskander missile attack was carried out in Poltava. Over 500 specialists were killed or wounded. They include career armed forces and National Guard members, as well as foreign mercenaries from Poland, France, Germany and Sweden who came to share their experience.
Most of the nigh strikes targeted Ukrainian manpower accumulated both in the tactical and strategic rear areas. Strikes were reported throughout the Kharkiv region and in the city of Dnipro.
Another Russian missile destroyed the Grand Palace hotel turned into point of temporary deployment of Ukrainian officers and foreign mercenaries in the city of Zaporozhie. Local residents reported that a large number of ambulances rushed to the area after the strike.
September 4 is one of the most powerful days. A Russian Iskander destroys the workshop of the munitions factory in Dnepropetrovsk. Combined attacks on the foreign mercenaries’ air defence zone in Krivoy Rog followed, where Kiev lost more than 250 soldiers, including 70 French and Romanian specialists.
Later, at another foreign deployment center in Konstantinov, some 50 Frenchmen were killed. The Russian army ended the day with a strike on a AFU drone depot in Odessa, where up to 20 drones were destroyed.
On the evening of September 4, Russia launched a series of strikes in Ukrainian rear regions and at night, the strikes continued: in the Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv regions and in the areas under Ukrainian control in the Donetsk. In the southern Odessa region, Russian Iskander-M missiles destroyed a facility used for service and storage of MGM-140 ATACMS missiles supplied by NATO to Ukraine.
September 11, the growing number of dead foreign citizens in Ukraine confirms that the West is going all out in the Ukrainian conflict, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said at the Security Council meeting on Ukraine. “The peculiarity of this series of strikes was the elimination of a significant number of foreign instructors, so those who follow this issue can expect a large number of obituaries about the sudden demise of high-ranking American, French, Polish and Swedish military officers. We have warned from the beginning that those who help the Zelensky clique stay afloat will become our legitimate targets. The fact that more and more citizens of Western countries are dying only confirms that the West is going all out in the Ukrainian conflict,” he emphasized.
Nordic Front
Scandinavia’s neutrality has been an important factor of keeping various buffer zones between the Soviet Union and NATO during the Cold War and thereafter.
Now both entered the military bloc NATO and in the latest such moves, Helsinki and Stockholm just gave the US the legal permission (DCA) to station troops in the country. Thus, Pentagon will have access to 15 Finnish and 17 Swedish military bases, with the possibility of storing and deploying heavy weapons and all kinds of armament and military material as well as all kind of military troops.
The recently concluded agreements, Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA), give the US legal grounds to create military exclusion zones, areas that will be accessible to US personnel only. What this really means is that Finland and Sweden effectively relinquished their sovereignty so it could become a legitimate target for Russian missiles.
Norway, Sweden and Finland have agreed to create a military transport corridor through the northern parts of their territories to ensure the rapid transfer of troops and equipment, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store has said.
Sweden
Sweden has suffered its first combat losses as NATO members, losing “Instructors” in Poltava Ukraine. US intelligence sources claim that Sweden lost the entire top management of SAAB Airborne Early Warning & Control systems, which would include at least three Swedish top officers, as a NATO headquarter was eradicated. Reportedly, SAAB had about 20 experts working in Poltava. Swedish foreign minister Tobias Billstrom resigned some hours later after this news.
Swedish wounded soldier confirmed on the side of the missile strike in Poltava: short video available in this link. Another short video of Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström has resigned following a Russian missile strike near Poltava. Swedish Armed Forces officially refute all those allegations.
Nothing in western MSM (as neither Swedish nor Finnish) but Ukrainian media reports Kiev regime sent 15 trucks evacuated +600 dead/wounded foreign NATO troops and officers to Sweden. The Ukrainian media did not specify, how many of those alleged bodies were Swedish citizens. The attack on a military communications institute in Poltava and a training center for specialists in electronic warfare and surveillance is beginning to take on new details.
Official Kiev says about 50 soldiers have been killed and more than 200 wounded. Military experts, including Western ones, confirm the deaths of about six hundred people, including Czech, German, French and Swedish “specialists”. Sweden is in complete shock at the loss of the entire leadership of the SAAB long-range radar detection and control systems in Poltava.
Western journalists and experts continue to discuss the “attack of the century” and report more and more details of the extreme losses. According to British expert Alexander Mercouris, shared on his blog, among those destroyed in the Iskander strike were specialists trained by the Swedes to operate the AWACS surveillance systems of reconnaissance aircraft. It is already known that German, French and British soldiers served as instructors at the Poltava Military Institute. Their task was to train cadets of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to work with unmanned aerial systems supplied to the Ukrainian army from NATO countries. But in addition to UAV instructors, there were also top Swedish specialists in electronic warfare and radar systems. The Swedes trained the Ukrainians to work on ASC 890 aircraft to detect long-range radar targets.

The Swedish Foreign Minister resigns two days after the devastating strike in Poltava, where Swedish instructors have perished. He is also retiring from politics. One has to wonder, if these events are connected, as one of the stated reasons for his retirement is the “drastic shift in Sweden’s security policy”. So far, the exact number of killed Swedish officers and experts is still unknown.
Swedish Foreign minister resigned “surprisingly” but it’s obviously in the aftermath of the attack on the Poltava military institute in Ukraine. This is indirect confirmation that a big group of Swedish instructors were hit in Ukraine. There are rumors that the Swedes in question, were a high-ranking group from Saab military industrial arm.
Two Swedish media persons and political journalists Hakan Bergmark and Oystein Ronne have been studying the case closely. They seem to be quite convinced about the deaths of Swedish servicemen although the Swedish authorities deny fully the whole incident. The videos below are in Swedish language.

” When the rats are leaving the sinking ship together…” What a coincidence! Foreign minister of Sweden, Tobias Billstrom, and foreign minister of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, resigned approx. at the same time, just after the Russian strike in Poltava.
A close eyewitness, a Swedish volunteer Britta Ellwanger, tells her feelings after the tragedy.
The previous Ukrainian blogger gave an update video on the strike, where he again reaffirms his claim to the losses: 500 killed persons, over 300 wounded.
Other ‘interesting’ news continued coming forth, such as a high-ranking US Army Lt. Colonel “died suddenly” in his apartment in Poland on the very next day after the massive Russian strikes in Poltava and Lvov.
Immediately after the massive strike of the Russian Aerospace Forces on Ukraine, US Army Lieutenant Colonel Joshua Kamara died in Poland. He was 45 years old. It is reported that he died in the US Army military camp in Poznan. Kamara was awarded the Legion of Honor, the Bronze Star, and the Medal of Merit, as well as other awards. Missiles land in Poltava, and US Army officers suddenly die somewhere in Poland. Moreover, the number of NATO officers killed after that attack of ours has already reached dozens.
This comes in conjunction with reports that a swarm of NATO transport planes were recorded descending on Poland, presumably to evacuate the mass amounts of dead NATO representatives. The most obvious evidence of the effectiveness of the missile strike on Poltava was the swarm of NATO medical aircraft (USA, Germany, Poland, Romania). They were evacuating both wounded instructors and the dead bodies. In cities like Berlin, police guarded convoys of ambulances rushed to hospitals by the evening. (Follower witness)
At the same time, the “legalization” of the dead NATO personnel began: US Army Lieutenant Colonel Joshua Kamara died suddenly in Poland. Ahead of us are many unexpected helicopter, yacht and private jet crashes or hiking incidents all over the world, with sudden passing NATO personnel. Poltava City Council Chief Kaplin admits chaos reigns in Central Ukrainian region, with overcrowded hospitals filled with wounded troops after Russian strike blasts army infrastructure in city.
Finland
There are various speculations in Finland that the Finnish military forces are preparing for a war. From a defense perspective, this makes no sense, because it has been reported that Russian bases near the Finnish border have been almost emptied (to Ukraine). Something is going on. If/when the war turns into Russian clear victory within next two months, NATO/Ukraine escalation comes and it will involve northern Finland in some way. Preparations, at least, seem to have been underway.
As I have reported hereinbefore:
On July 21, two B-52 strategic bombers from the US Air Force Global Strike Command that are capable of carrying nuclear missiles flew from Barksdale Air Base in Louisiana to European airspace. Over Finland, they positioned the flight into firing positions to launch strikes on Russian territory. The bombers were intercepted by Russian MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighters.
After the flight, the bombers were refueled by a KC-135 Stratotanker from the British Air Force and landed at a NATO airbase in Romania.
Drone attacks in Kola Peninsula
I have analyzed the first such strike in my article of August 8, 2024 “From proxy war to direct war in Ukraine”.
“Exceptionally severe incident took place on Saturday, July 27, when Ukrainian drone hit Tu-22M3 bomber at Olenya airfield. The Olenya airbase is located some 90 km south of Murmansk. Distance to Finland is about 150 km and distance to the Norwegian border is about 200 km. The strategic air base at Olenya is nearly up to 2,000 kilometers north of Russia’s border to Ukraine.”
“There is no exact information by now indicating from where the drone that hit Olenya was launched. If take-off from within Ukraine, the autopiloted flight has crossed nearly 2,000 kilometers of central Russia under heavy jamming. Another option could be that the drone was launched from somewhere inside Russia. But there is yet another option regarding the place of launch, which is locating much closer to Olenya than Ukraine, namely Finland.”
Now, it is possible that a second similar incident has happened, August 21, which was in my article Visible signs of the approaching end in Ukraine, August 26, 2024.
“Ukrainian drone/UAV attack in Russian Kola Peninsula appears to be A22 Foxbat drone. All the generally known versions of A22 Foxbat cannot fly so long distance, from Ukraine to Kola, about 1500 km. This refers to the possibility that the drone has been launched from the place, which locates much nearer to the target. There are speculations that it was again Finland.”
The flight routes below may prove the launch sites of recent drone strike flights to North Russia.
Conclusions
Swedish servicemen have been killed in Poltava again in September 2024 – previous time in 1709. Sweden’s contribution to Ukraine has been growing yearly since 2022 and now, Sweden continues the same pernicious policy they have been practicing for years. Finland is coming along, now behind, but in the near future perhaps ahead.
The recent news by Bloomberg should wake up the decision-makers in Sweden and Finland. Who/Which country is the greatest threat to European countries?
State leadership in both countries, Sweden and Finland, do not understand, what the above-mentioned Bloomberg news really means: both countries are “betting on a wrong horse”. They rely blindly on the US and refuse to realize the hard facts of reality around. When this (the news above) happens within next few months, they will be standing on “thin air”.
